Wow! Rugby is Ruf!!

11 Apr

Steve and I went to see Korey play a little Rugby this past Saturday...he played like 3 plus hours straight...he had to fill in for Hillsdale's team as they were short guys and then he played for his Grand Valley team against Hope the other game. Here is running over to us before the games begin:)

Catching up with the Hillsdale team...love the black and white effect.

Love looking at sport's fields...the view from the stands.

I like the view of looking through the fence for effect too...Korey is at the bottom of the pile...he is always in the mix it seems:) He attacks!

Korey is in the middle of the pic...number 17 in this game...again this game he was playing Grand Valley on Hillsdale's team.

This is some Rugby ritual I'll call it...can't remember name of this formation...Mike told me, but I have forgotten. Mike played in the Army. Anywho, Korey is the front, right corner nearest the camera.

Just a cool action shot:) See the intensity in his face!

You can just see the 7 and part of the 1 in 17 of Korey's shirt in middle right of picture right between guy in blue shirt and 6...again...he ATTACKS!

Another shot of Korey attacking..he's the one coming in from the right.

Korey is getting out of the pile...or in it...not sure:)

A fast game...Korey either has ball or is running to cut off guy who does...again, he is 17 on far left.

Again, Korey is in attack mode...you can see him in the middle, coming in from the right in this shot with his arm reaching out to grab the guy.

Korey is at the bottom of pile with the ball.

Yea...did I tell you in Rugby they never stop the game...you could be mortally wounded and the game goes on...Korey is tough...you can see the pile is removing themselves...and we can finally see Korey. I would say he was one of the toughest on any team I saw!

He's all good:)

This is pic does NOT show justice to the war wounds JUST after the first game...now he's getting ready to play with Grand Valley...he doesn't seem phased:)

Korey with his Grand Valley Team...he's middle front...wish this was a little clearer, but the pic still looks cool.

Korey is going after the guy with the ball...see guy with ball in far left...Korey is in front foreground running left...he's 14 on this team.

TACKLE!! See Korey tackle the guy's legs...works every time!

Korey at bottom of pile after everybody jumps on them from above!

Korey is running up to the pile. Nice stride, Korey:) He's right to the right of the kid with the hat.

Korey is in the left view of this shot.

Korey got a touchdown (can't remember what you call it in Rugby), but he is at bottom of pile and you can't seem him. So, this is the end of this day...I didn't get a shot of Korey afterwards, but I give him huge kudos for playing so tough! So long! In such a rough sport! It made me cringe a few times (YIKES!). Great job, Korey:)

March Madness…:)

4 Apr

Made Steve a brownie birthday cake this year:)

Had some fun at Firekeepers...Steve's liking Blackjack some now:)

These guys are a little crazy, but always fun:) Not sure what Steve is doing...LOL:D

Steve and I stopped by the Double J Ranch to see Kris, Mike and the boys on our way up to Traverse City on my birthday weekend...

How fun is this bar stool?! 🙂

I love this red barn on the Old Mission Pennisula up in Traverse...Steve and I had a beautiful 18 mile ride that day just checking out the sights...

...this is a neat lighthouse at the end of the road...

...we started walking out to the lake at the lighthouse...

...not sure how low the lake is all the time at this point, but we got out so far!

Looking back!

Got so many neat nature shots here! See how that ice is "floating" on the rocks...so cool!

I just had to stop and take in the beauty:)

...Steve is on the last rock you could possibly be on at this point without going under:)

We stopped at a few breweries...this is North Peak with a very cool bench! I bet my Uncle Dave could make this...Steve too...

...they had some good beer...I like the sampler display:)

This is Right Brain Brewery...this is actually a photo in the place...good conversation piece...you'd have to be there to see why.

It was unseasonably warm this trip in March and we stopped to have our picture taken...this is looking off the Holiday Inn outside bar area there in Traverse.

Steve having a good time being goofy:)

We had a rainy drive home from Traverse, but I just love this big fish statue!

We stopped at Ferris State where Steve went to school...it was fun seeing where Steve went.

Got to be part of a great fundraiser this March for Kris...the Lord is good, and so many of her friends, family and co-workers came to support her...

...Kris and her dad...

...packed house:)...

...this is lovely Lisa, one of the hardest working, sweetest person I have met who really was the backbone of this fundraiser!

Steve and Gage at my first official Spring visit to Wolf Lake Hatchery this year...Father and Son...so sweet:)

It was another day for beautiful exploring around the ponds...

...see the water snake in the bottom, left corner...always a little spooky seeing a snake swim!

Checkin' out the ol' mill at the hatchery...I love the stone!

Gage livin' on the edge with his new mohawk;) Gotta take a chance with style once in awhile...:)

We're at the Al Sabo (I think that is the spelling.) wildlife/park area about 15 minutes from our house which we had NEVER been to! I can't believe it! It is beautiful and, Pa, it has mountain biking trails!

We walked from like 10:30am to 1:00pm...beautiful, beautiful and you don't even feel like you're in Kzoo/Portage.

Garret leading the way as usual:)

Boys LOVE climbin' trees:) What boy doesn't?!

Searching for frogs, toads, snakes...

...more climbing:)

Pretty flowers...

...walking on one of the neatest water/swamp trails we've ever seen in MI and it's right in our backyard practically!

Ending our March Madness tour...we've had some fun, seen some beautiful sights, and seen the love and support of family and friends throughout this whole month!
