Is it a Poodle? Is it Shirley Temple?

23 Feb

Is it a Poodle?  Is it Shirley Temple?  Is it Superman?  Wait, back up to the poodle and Shirley Temple question…nope…it’s just me and my hair after no power and sponge curlers:)  Power back on thankfully now…!

This picture is so mortifying and obviously I have no pride or shame because I am sharing with you, but come on now...it's funny:) And scary!!!

…then…

...this is me and my attempt to "tame" it down a little so I could show up at work at least a little presentable:) Ahhh...whatever...you have good days and you have baaaaaaddd days:)

Thank you, Lord, for power, hair dryers, curling irons, make-up (at least eye-liner so I have eyes)…and friends who I can share my crazy days with!!!  Amen!!! 🙂

Another Trip to OH:)

20 Feb

So, I left Friday morning for another trip to OH…it was so wonderful seeing my family again, and I got to spend some good quality time Saturday during the day with my little Walker and Millie:)  My trip was cut short as bad weather was moving in, and thank you to my family and friends who texted or called me to give me the heads up…because of that I came home late last night…thankfully, because as I look at the radar this morning I’d be driving all the way home in it.  I was so sad to cut my trip short though because I missed Walker’s birthday party last night with his cousin Jane.  Sorry guys!!! 😦  Here are some pics from the time I did get to share with them though…

Walker checking out his two Matchbox cars I got him...:)

...he liked putting them in his racetrack:)

Love you, Walker!

I asked him to show me his muscles and he did...I love it:)

Then I started taking pictures of Millie...she started to smile and Walker was like I can smile too, so,...

...it started like this...

...then we said, "Smile big", and we got this...:)...

...this...

...and this...

...and this...

...then this...:)

...and this...I loved how his one eye would close:)...

...and finally this:)

Then I got a group shot:)

Just Millie and Me:)

I still had given Walker or Millie their Christmas presents, so, we did that...he's so cute when he opens presents:)

He loved his Big Brother shirt though he'll have to grow into a bit...I swear I didn't buy it because it was MI colors (wink, wink) 🙂

He loved his MI Bear puzzle...thank you, Barb:) She knows we have to get a little MI influence into his blood young too:) Sorry, Amy:)

He loved his stacking blocks:)

But, most importantly, he loved going through my purse (hehe) 😀 I'm the one who actually started the whole thing, but those of you who know me, well, you know...my purses are big and hold many things that kids would love to get their hands on, so, that provided a good source of entertainment for Walker...he looked at me like, "Am I really allowed to play with all this stuff?"...bad influence I am:)

After he took out every tissue out of their package, smelled my perfume, checked out the make-up, played with my phone, found out how to do a slideshow on my camera, opened all the highlighters, and read my Bible he gave me…

...he gave me "Thumbs Up" (which he does as fingers up) - Loved It! 🙂

To say the least my time with my nephew and niece was precious and I love them dearly:)

Boys being boys:)

Now this is what I call "Cool" 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day!

15 Feb

Whether you are physically alone or with someone today…or maybe emotionally alone today…remember this!…You are loved not only today on Valentine’s by somebody, but every day!  Yes, I’m talking about the Big Man upstairs, Jesus:)  Hoping each day you lean on Him…and, take away this little Valentine from me today as I truly care about each of you who read this:)

A little prayer I just wrote…

10 Feb

I wrote this prayer as I saw this picture of my precious little niece…

Dear Lord,

Thank you for watching over me

Every day

And in every way…

May I look to you

Every day

And in every way…

If danger awaits

May you send an angel to abate

Every day

And in every way…

I thank you, Lord, for your precious love

Every day

And in every way…

May I never forget your unfailing love…

every day and in every way.

Love,

Sarah

Ahhhh...to sleep with such peace:)

Frostbite 5k – Vicksburg 2011…We girls rock!

6 Feb

So, what an exciting morning!  Jill completed her first race ever and did awesome!  Amanda and I ran in the coldest weather by far for a race…we had a blast:)

We started out meeting at my house…

We were still warm...Jill a little nervous...heck, I was a little nervous:)

We stayed warm in the little train depot they opened for us with food, coffee, water and registration once we got there…

...this was about a half hour before race...

...time is ticking down to the start...still staying warm...

Why's my hair so big? and my face? 🙂

Do we have to go to the bathroom one more time? Hey, just being honest here:)

Now it’s 10 minutes to the race…it’s cold…

...but we're pumped...

...we're pysched...

...and a little goofy:)

The pack gathers…

...looking in front of us...

...looking behind us...

The gun goes off…

...and, we're off...we hit the first 1/2 mile at this point...doing well...getting used to breathing in the cold with figuring out our pace...

We look really happy at the half don’t we:)?

...still going strong...path had ice on it, so, we were a little tentative in our step...

...we went 'bout 1-1/2 mile out and we have now made the turn...

Focusing on our breathing…and we made it…we made it with a good steady pace – no joke – no twisted ankles…and we were…

...happy...way to kick it at end, KS!!

…we were…

...proud...you go SF!! First race...awesome race!!! 🙂

…we were…

...a great team and support for each other!!! Love you, girls:)

...getting a little snack after the race in the train depot...real cute building with museum inside by the way...going there in Spring for sure.

Then we were dying for a expresso, latte, etc. at the Boundary Waters coffee shop in town…

...and Kris and I texted to say where we were and meet up for that yummy coffee with the boys, Mike, and her parents...Steve was getting our taxes done - I totally double-booked us...whoops:)

GROUP SHOT!!! 🙂

...we were warm, happy with our drinks, and glad to be with family and friends:) And, glad to see Kris out after her surgery, though "No, overdoing it, Kris! 🙂

Then the boys came home with the girls and I…

...and us girls are now revving ourselves up to begin practicing for running the 1/2 marathon in Kalamazoo in May! We rock! 🙂 p.s. Amanda so sweet for walking with Garret across street:)

Garret and His Glasses…

1 Feb

Here's the handsome guy...he looks very GQ:) You can't tell in pic but there is a little blue in the frames and he actually doesn't seem to mind wearing them - partly age I think and partly because he can see and Steve let him pick them out, so, he feels like he has a little more "ownership" over them - he likes to be a little independent like any other kid...his right eye is soooooo bad, so, I'm excited to know that this will help him! 🙂

So, Garret has never wanted to wear his other glasses he was prescribed.  When Steve took him in for another eye exam this year the new doctor said that was probably because the other doctor had tried to correct his vision in his right eye 100% all at once, which can cause the headaches, etc….and with Garret not completely being able to exactly express what he was feeling when he wore them it really bothered him.

Well, this time, he picked out his own glasses and when he put his new prescription on Steve told me he looked around and said, “Wow!”…he’s been saying “Wow” all last night to seeing things…he hasn’t really complained about wearing them either.  The doc was really good at explaining why he needs to wear them.  He knows he can only take them off for bed…
