Deals, Anyone?

30 Nov

At the crack of dawn…no, BEFORE the crack of dawn, Amanda and I set forth into the darkness known as BLACK FRIDAY!  She comes toolin’ in my driveway at 2:45am and we set off to Kohls…the wind was whipping…

There is snow whipping around if you look really close in the pic. I still need to figure out how to use the settings on my camera to capture what I want in different light, etc.

…we looked beautiful (hrrmmgghh), I mean we looked like we just woke up and didn’t get any sleep…

At least we were smiling, a little wired, and in her warm car...

…while these crazy people stood out in the freezing cold…

...we didn't want anything THAAAAT Bad!!! 🙂

So, after the huge line walked inside, we went in, got what we wanted, waited in line, bought a few things, went to a few more shops, and then we decided to have a little breakfast for our worn out bodies from lack of sleep and surviving the crowds…

...let's just say with a little warmth from our coffee:) and hot meal we had the best, earliest morning shopping ever!!! 🙂

…I’m thankful for my parents who brought me up in the way of the Lord!

…I’m thankful for my husband who is willing to work on making our marriage the best it can be, and who thinks I’m absolutely beautiful, who isn’t afraid to admit we’ve made mistakes, but have made more good than bad memories and wants to make more good ones…

I’m thankful for the boys who bring such joy and intrigue to my life:) on a daily basis…

…a sign of a season past…

25 Nov

…Fall is no longer here…as you can see in these pics on a couple of our Holmes-Schwanski nights we were just in sweatshirts…we grilled, we laughed, we played, we danced, rode bikes…this was really only a few weeks ago, a month or month and half ago tops I would say, and now it is freezing!!  Winter coats, gloves, scarves…it’s cold!

So, Summer was warm and nice…then we got a little teaser of Fall…

Chris in tree knocking out branches for our fire on Holmes-Schwanski night:) He's a little daring if I say so!

So, we got the branches...having our get-togethers always brings out interesting, fun times for us:)

We had to wear light jackets or sweatshirts, but it felt so refreshing…a little break from the heat…

Michael, Colin, and Gage rode around in our wide driveway...

Gage, Michael, Colin all so cute:)

See we love sweatshirt weather...:)

Then, after the above nights it got even warmer and here we are again on another Holmes-Schwanski night in t-shirts!

Amanda and Steve, well, they were just in their element loving the music...like, for real, they were rocking:)

As the night wore on the warm temps stayed and Colin got in the music mix…

Colin and Michael both love to rock and I really think they are mini-superstars:)

But, alas, all good things must come to end:)  I have to say I’m a little excited for some winter weather adventures as we always seem to experience some fun different things with the new season…we’ll have to wait and see!!!

…a shooting star!

21 Nov

Yesterday morning Steve and I awoke early and went hunting…Steve with a gun, me with a camera:)  I forgot to buy a license but wanted to sit out and enjoy the beauty of watching the sunrise and be with my hubby…

We arrived...the moon was bright, the stars beautiful...and it was cold! 🙂

We sat out and waited for the sun…it was pretty foggy throughout the morning…Steve saw two shooting stars and I saw the second one he saw…it was so amazingly bright and so neat to see together!

Some of the view I saw from my vantage point of where we were sitting…

The fog would come and go...it was beautifully spooky...

This view was behind me...you could hear little field mice everywhere...they are loud little creatures...

We didn’t see any deer, so, we eventually headed out…seeing the shooting star together made the morning though and was worth our hands freezing!

We decided to call it a morning and head to breakfast...love the view on the way out:)

No, seriously I loved the view:)

This field is just so peaceful...love shooting these views:)

…I’ll be their hero!

20 Nov

Doesn't he look like a little hero running to save the day? 🙂

“There aren’t very many heroes these days. Who is out there to inspire us with a personal example of virtue and self-sacrifice in the name of a higher good? Who can we look up to? Business Leaders? Sports Figures? Politicians? Celebrities? Heck, we’re lucky if they don’t end up in prison! As usual, the hero business is up to me!”
– Calvin and Hobbes

…WHEEL – OF – FORTUNE!!! Thinking outside of the box…

17 Nov

…so, Gage had an idea…I wasn’t using one of the racks on my new purse rack, so, I was like play with it as much as you want.  He thought of a game…I added dollar amounts just on ripped up paper towels…taped them to the “spokes”…then we taped a straw in between two of the spokes – once spun whomever this straw pointed at got the dollar amount with corresponding “prize”…then to make the spokes click when spun we taped like 5 straws to the side of the leg of one of our bookcases, and there you go, our version of WHEEL OF FORTUNE!  He played with me…he played the next day with Steve…it was actually a great use of his imagination and we had fun:)  Check out the creation…

Stuffed animals were our audience...and our contestants at times:) You can see the yellow straw too.

This is the top view of the game...love being creative...love the boys thinking outside of the box!!!

…I love bowling!

16 Nov

Yesterday we went bowling…just some pics of the time there:)

Boys looking cute as ever...I told them to "lean in" and Garret really got that head leaning:D

Steve and I leanin' 🙂

Get a Strike!!! Garret did...

Gage also got a Strike!!

Steve got a few Strikes!!

Our Scores for first game...Gage and I got our Strikes in 2nd Game...Steve and Garret got theirs in both games:)
