…practically vintage Matchbox cars:)

30 Oct

Our not so stylish Matchbox cars growing up:)

Got to my parents house last night and we all just had so much fun…we can’t wait to see Amy and Walker…Russ stopped by briefly last night…the boys are having fun exploring the house and looking at different toys than they have.  My mom saved alot of our toys just for occasions like this!  Russ had lots of Matchbox cars and Gage found those:)  My mom says, “Yea, they just don’t make those cars like they used to” (meaning they were made out of a heavier metal mainly – tougher than now…at least they seem that way) and Gage, not understanding the meaning my mom was getting at says, “Yea, they make them more stylish now”…we all got a kick out of that:D  LOL!

…Cute Cousins:)

I’ve been having a lot of favorites lately…heck, favorite is one of my favorite words:D

They laugh together, they argue together, but in the end they love that they're family!

…”Say Heello Tu My Leeeetle Red Pepper”

I love it!!!  I got my first pepper off of the plant my neighbor Chris gave me…I’m not joking…it is my favorite pepper of all time…little right now, but it actually has personality:)  And, I didn’t kill the plant…HUGE!!!  (Well, I really love plants and don’t kill that much:)  Check it out…it was green then just turned red…I mean there is nothing else like seeing something from just a green plant to this…thank you, Chris!  🙂

…you can’t beat this

26 Oct

This is by far my favorite post to write to date.  It’s a beautiful fall, unseasonably, warm night tonight and as we’re heading into church Gage looks up at me and says, “Sarah, this really has to be my favorite thing I own because it’s all about God.”  (see picture below) There is nothing that will top that for a “moment 2 remember”.  Each Monday night as we attend church I can see him open up to his class and to knowing more of the Bible.  There is nothing more I want in life than to have each of my step-children know the Lord in a personal way…nothing!  Every challenge they will face in life, every happy memory they make, if walking next to the Lord will make it easier for them and eternally they will be forever happy.  Each day I pray for them that they do not lose sight of knowing Him.  I love you, boys!  Lord, please protect their hearts, please hold them close to You, and help me be a better example each day…Love, Sarah

…am I crazy?!

24 Oct

…so for the last couple of years on the kid’s Spring Break Steve and I take the boys up to Ludington and we stay in a little cabin at the State Park…remember now, Spring Break is in April and just going those 3 hours north it is still quite nippy outside:)  No going South for us…we thrive in the cooler weather.  We wear winter coats generally, have fires, watch The Great Outdoors, and well, I take a dip into the big drink – Lake Michigan:)  Am I crazy?! 🙂  The water is so cold still and you are numb as soon as you hit it…buuuutttt, I love doing it…it’s so refreshing…so invigorating:)

…two blondes:)

22 Oct

A lot of people ask if I’ve ever had my hair short…this is as short as I’ve ever had it…just to about my shoulders…little past.  I just like wearing my hair long.  Even though this is shorter you can see I wear it the same way:)

...the two blondes:) He/she was actually quite heavy...if you take a closer look at pic you can tell this by my arm being in a pretty flexed position just trying to hold the snake up.

…on the road again!

…one of my favorite areas in West Michigan heading towards South Haven…it will forever hold a dear place in my heart…pictures do not do justice to the vastness you feel when it opens up to the field in the last picture.  I’ve seen hundreds of deer in this field at dusk with the sunlight just about to say goodnight and it will take your breath away.  The peace you feel at moments like those, well, you just have to experience it.
